General building construction involves the process of creating structures such as residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities. It typically includes phases such as planning, design, site preparation, foundation laying, structural framing, roofing, exterior and interior finishing, and installation of utilities like plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. The goal is to create safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing spaces that meet the needs of the intended occupants.
